Worship Together Box Set

Sadly, the rock star life never quite worked out for me, but my time playing in bands led to some connections that got me some interesting work.

I was contracted to work with EMI records Christian Music Group to create songbooks (sheet music) that accompanied some of their releases. This led to other work for this division of one of the major recording industry conglomerates that was eventually absorbed by Capitol Records. After designing several songbooks, I created a branding effort for their relaunch of “WorshipTogether.com,” an effort to move their songbooks over to a web-focused platform, as well as some B2B materials.

But one project stood out among the others: the 10th Anniversary Box Set. This was a project designed to bridge between the printed song books and the digital realm, compiling 10 years of content as a useful, accessible tool and a celebration of the 10 years of work in this market.

As this was being positioned as “the digital hymnal for the modern worship generation,” I created a design that referenced historical hymnals that could be found in a traditional church environment, and distressed it to appear as if it the new, digital age was bursting forth from the previous artifact.

I am currently in the middle of a complete web site overhaul. I threw this site’s most recent incarnation together pretty quickly, and before I was finished, I managed to find full-time work, and so finishing things to my satisfaction became less of a priority. Since then, I have changed my mind about how I was presenting my work on here, and so it became necessary to throw most of it away and start over. There’s still a bunch of work on here, but it’s not very focused. I’m fixing that. If you jump around the site, it might seem like some things are more finished than others. Hopefully I’ll be able to get things buttoned up in short term. A lot of the work will go away, at least for a while, while I focus on presenting fewer, but more comprehensive projects. Pardon my dust, as they say.
